Aloka 2026 : A meaningful beginning for aspiring nurses

Sree Narayana College of Nursing solemnly conducted β€˜Aloka 2026’, the Lamp Lighting Ceremony for the fourth batch of B.Sc. Nursing students, marking an important milestone in their journey into the noble nursing profession.

The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr. Elizabeth Varkey, Chief Nursing Officer, Aster TM Healthcare, South Kerala Cluster. The function was presided over by Mr. K.D. Venugopal, Secretary, Gurudeva Charitable Trust.

Prof. Dr. Simple Rajagopal, Principal of the college, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the significance of the lamp lighting ceremony as a symbol of compassion, dedication, and professional commitment in nursing. Lt. Col. Amita Naze, Nursing Superintendent, administered the professional pledge to the students, reaffirming their commitment to ethical practice and compassionate patient care.

The program also included the distribution of prizes to students who excelled in various competitions conducted as part of the event. Felicitations were offered by Mr. Rajendran, Joint Secretary, Gurudeva Charitable Trust, and Dr. Indirakumari K.R., Principal, Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Sreejamol M.G., Vice Principal. The event was attended by faculty members, students, and distinguished guests.

Aloka 2026’ stood out as a meaningful ceremony that reaffirmed the service pledge of students entering the healthcare profession.
